In late 2014, Minaj and her longtime boyfriend Safaree Samuels got separated. Her many tracks on the album, The Pinkprint are inspired by the end of her relationship. Some of her songs lyrics also revealed she had an abortion as a teenager. Minaj started her relationship with rapper Meek Mill, and rapper Mills confirmed their relationship on April 12, 2015.
